Friedens go gold!
by samuraijack on 04/22/2004 06:18 PM
Icecream manufacturers cite caramel overdose as cause.

More icecream, my young padawan
That's right, you read it here first, folks. The professional, full-time coding duo who form the core of KMOS's operating system development have gone gold. Users earlier noticed the auric discolouration of the Frieden's normally pristine skin at an "OS4 on tour" meeting but were afraid to say anything about it, in case they were set upon by their fellow fans and torn limb from limb.

Today the brothers' distinctly Midean hue has been described in an official press release as being, "Just an artifact of certain low quality digital cameras," by ex-Managing Partner of Hyperion Entertainment, Ben Hermans. Mr. Hermans went on, "I've consulted at least fifty of my high-power legal links and colleagues, and they've assured me that the gold colouring was caused by idiot photographers not knowing how to use their equipment properly. Probably products of the American school system again."

This statement began a full scale flame war on the Amiga forums. Many supporters of Hyperion, easily identifiable by their "boing ball" or rip-off lightsabre avatars, blamed Bill Buck and Genesi of photoshopping the pictures and trying to destroy the Amiga community by making their heroes look like extras in a Tango ad. Others told the Hyperion supporters to 'shut up and accept reality for once', taking the ice cream manufacturer's claim of caramel poisoning as gospel.

But we were mailed by a Genesi ex-employee who was much more skeptical. "The Friedens can't possibly have eaten enough ice cream to go GOLD," he wrote. "I know what 500,000 empty cartons of ice cream look like, and I don't see them near the Friedens, do you?"

To clear up the whole matter, we requested the original pictures as they were compressed using GPL software. To date however, we have not received any official reply from Hyperion. Article Manager module by by George! Software.
